WHO I AM
Welcome to the self-effacing bio of Barchiel. Please note that the creation of this site is not to build or re-enforce what many call ego, but to provide you, the reader a glimpse into the process of one individual attempting to build a better temple through the path known as Freemasonry. In no way do I speak for this noble fraternity, all opinions, commentaries, and thoughts belong to me and only me. If you find your opinions differ from those discussed in this forum, I respect your difference of opinion, after all we are freethinkers.
My entrance through the door of Freemasonry came rather late in life. Many masons I have meet followed familial laid paths to the Lodge. This was not my case. My path played out through a chain of synchronistic events culminating into a knock on the door.
The short of it is, I like forty million others read the Da Vinci Code, and I like millions of others viewed the movie National Treasure.
Before you ask, no I did not believe the Da Vinci Code was truth disguised as fiction, or this great treasure was awaiting hunters under the nation’s capital. However, I did find the references to Freemasonry interesting. Who were some individuals that found secrecy so important, and what was their actual purpose and belief. Fortunately, we live in a time where access to information is just a click of a mouse away, even though I was soon to become more confused and intrigued.
I was truly amazed by the amount of myth, conspiracy, conjecture, superstition, and down right evil, these Freemasons could reek on the world. Sign me up!
Only kidding, call it intuition, call it sensibility, I knew not all these positions could be correct, and deep in my experience of life I sensed they were outright fabrications. Just by the fact, and fact alone I knew these beliefs would not bare out considering the history of those involved in this fraternity, George Washington, Isaac Newton, Ben Franklin just to name a few. The names of those that were raised as Freemasons worked for the freedoms, knowledge, and charities that those who malign them enjoy. I truly believe that the reason why Freemasons don’t counter the assaults on their brotherhood is because they are practicing what they preach, they are allowing you the freedom of speech, even though your position may be erroneous, its your freedom to remain in the dark, creating your own temple on a weak foundation.
I choose knowledge over ignorance. I knocked on the door.

New Hampshire Masonic Trivia
Built in 1766, this tavern served as a Masonic Lodge In the fine State of New Hampshire. Amazingly, this historic building still serves the Masonic community. Can you guess its name?
His body lay in an alcohol-filled coffin in an unmarked grave in a cemetery for foreign Protestants for over a century.
In 1913 his body was finally laid to rest in a magnificent marble sarcophagus, modeled on the tomb of Napoleon, in the chapel crypt of Annapolis Naval Academy; a far cry from his humble beginnings in Scotland.

Disliked by Gen. Washington, this General was one of the best known New Hampshire figures in the Revolution.
